A movie theater full of kids in Nottingham, England, had come to see the lighthearted animated tale 'Madagascar 3.' Unfortunately, they received quite a shock when theater employees mistakenly played a completely different kind of sequel.

Instead of Alex, Marty, Melman and the rest of the animal gang, the youngsters were treated to the first two minutes of horror flick 'Paranormal Activity 4.'

"It opens on the most terrifying scene in the first film - where a body shoots full-pelt towards the camera," said parent Natasha Lewis, whose eight-year-old son was in attendance. "It's enough to make grown men jump, so you can imagine the terror in these young faces."

According to witnesses, many of the youngsters in attendance began crying when the bloody corpse flew across the screen. This triggered a mad scurry for the exits as parents tried to protect their kids from what might come next.

“It was only about two minutes worth of the film, but it was enough to scar them for life,” Lewis added.

Needless to say, the theater chain has apologized profusely. They have also refunded and given a free ticket to anyone who was there for the mix up. The free tickets better be valid indefinitely because it may be tough to get those kids back in a dark movie theater (or really any dark room) anytime soon.
