Here’s a few of the stories that had Sioux Falls talking this week:

The alleged Boston Marathon bomber who hid from authorities for more than 20 hours was captured Friday night by police, sending cheers up through the Watertown neighborhood where he was found. Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, 19, was discovered by a homeowner lying in a boat in the man’s backyard around 7 p.m. The man noticed blood on the boat, spotted a body inside the boat and called 911. Gunfire was exchanged and officers went to the boat and took Tsarnaev into custody. Tsarnaev and his brother, Tamerlan Tsarnaev, 26, are believed to be behind the bombing of the Boston Marathon on Monday that killed three individuals and injured more than 170.

In an effort to clean up over 70 square miles of debris in the the wake of last week ice storm, mayor mike Huether introduced “Operation Timber Strike”, which will provide a recovery program for parks, streets, and neighborhoods. The 4-step plan consists of branch removal, branch disposal, and volunteers.

The nation will remember. Gov. Dennis Daugaard says President Barack Obama has called for all flags to be flown at half-staff out of respect for victims of Monday’s bombings at the Boston Marathon. Please keep flags at half-staff until sunset Saturday.

The SDSU Equestrian team was in Waco, Texas at the time of the explosion at a fertilizer plant in the small town of West, Texas. South Dakota State University Senior Associate Athletics Director Leon Costello confirmed that team was staying in a north Waco, Texas hotel. “We reached out to them and made contact with them. They are fine,” said Costello. The hotel where the team was staying is located 16 miles from the blast. The blast was felt up to 15 miles away, according to reports, and heard as far away as Dallas, 75 miles away. We are so thankful they are safe!

40-year-old Camille Solberg was arrested at the Arena Motel Tuesday night for making a one-pot meth lab in her room. She faces several drug charges including manufacturing meth in a school zone. “Hello, front desk? I need a few extra towels and a wake up call for 7, and a really big kettle thingy. Thank you.”
