Meteorologist Mark Chenard of the National Weather Service in Sioux Falls says southeast South Dakota could receive five inches of snow late Thursday morning and continuing in the afternoon.

Chenard tells KSOO Radio:  "Much of the early morning might actually be dry----probably getting light snow or flurries.  The accumulating snow will move into the area mid to late morning and will possibly last through the afternoon hours.  We're looking at 5 inches.in the Sioux Falls area by the time it's all said and done."

Sioux Falls remains under a winter storm warning.
