There are so many programs in and around Sioux Falls that do great work to help out the less fortunate here in the Sioux Empire.

Another one starts Tuesday, September 15, 2015.

It's the 10th annual Shoe for the Shoeless program put on by Family Orthopedic & Shoe Repair and Steakout.

Time to go through all your gently used, wearable footwear that hasn't been worn in a while and donate them to a person who could really use a new pair of shoes.

Shoe donations can be made during business hours at Family Orthopedic & Shoe Repair at 112 South Van Eps Avenue or Steakout at 120 South Van Eps Avenue here in Sioux Falls.

Both locations will be accepting shoe donations through October 31.

All the shoes donated will be distributed to people who could use them by The Union Gospel Mission, who also help coordinate the project.

Thanks to all the kind donations last year, the shoe drive collected over 15,000 pairs of shoes.
