Two San Antonio area high school football players tackled a ref at a recent game, and from the video it looks to have been deliberate.

At a game Friday night in Marble Falls, TX, about 90 miles north of San Antonio, two players from visiting John Jay High School in San Antonio team hit the back judge.

The video shows the referee standing behind the defensive line as the play starts. The ref is then hit from behind by a John Jay player. After the ref falls, a second John Jay player dives helmet first onto the ref.

Both players were ejected from the game and suspended from the team and school. The Northside Independent School District is investigating. They plan a due process hearing where they will hear from coaches, game officials and students. The two players could also face criminal charges.

John Jay High lost the game 15-9.
