Three thousand Sioux Falls residents will soon be receiving a survey asking for their opinions about our city and any ideas they have for its betterment. Why only three thousand? Beats me, but if you get one make sure you fill it out and return it.

This is your opportunity to let the "powers that be" (Mayor Mike & city council members) know what you think they've done well and what you think they could change for the better.

The National Citizen Survey is a scientific survey which was developed to gather people's opinions on issues affecting their communities like quality of life and local government services. The NCS has been used in 46 states so far and leaders in the involved communities indicate that this survey has helped guide improvements in communication, prioritizing and goal-setting.

Survey results should be available late this spring.
