Tea Woman Arrested for Shoplifting Over $2,000 in Merchandise from Kohl’s, Empire Mall Stores
Sioux Falls police say a woman from Tea is accused of shoplifting more than $2,000 in merchandise from five stores, mostly in the Empire Mall.
Officer Sam Clemens says a loss prevention employee at Kohl's on South Louise Avenue saw the woman in the store around 4pm Tuesday and recognized her from previous incidents.
Clemens says the employee told police the woman was shoplifting again:
Clemens says 30-year-old Katie Marie Smit of Tea was arrested and charged with grand theft-shoplifting and possession of stolen property.
