While the race to join the 'Guardians of the Galaxy' cast heats up, with Joseph Gordon-Levitt dropping out to pursue greener pastures in 'Sin City: A Dame to Kill For,' Marvel is getting things ready for when those announcements finally happen.

While DC assembles its team for the 'Justice League' movie for a 2015 release, Marvel is busy doing the same. Aside from 'The Avengers 2' and the even more upcoming 'Iron Man 3,' 'Thor 2' and 'Captain America 2' flicks, Marvel Studios is busy trying to fill the cast of their next superhero movie 'Guardians of the Galaxy.' Recently we reported that James Gunn's 'Guardians of the Galaxy' was testing five actors for the lead. Joel Edgerton, Jack Huston, Jim Sturgess, Lee Pace and Eddie Redmayne were all up for the role of Peter Quill, a half-human, half-alien who brings the Guardians together. It now looks like the race is down to two people: Jim Sturgess and new contender Zachary Levi.

All systems are go! Marvel and director James Gunn are beginning tests for the lead role in 'Guardians of the Galaxy,' and we're pretty excited about a few names on that list.
