Given the recent 10-year anniversary of the series, and documentary testifying to the lasting impact Joss Whedon's 'Firefly' had on the fan community, even the so-called "Browncoats" must eventually concede that a true 'Firefly' revival may never come to fruition. Yet even with all the clout Whedon commands in Hollywood these days, hard at work on both 'The Avengers 2' and the 'S.H.I.E.L.D.' As much as we enjoy the back and forth banter between 'Castle' and his beloved Kate Beckett, we have to confess that Nathan Fillion never had a better female companion than Gina Torres' Zoe Washburne. Well, he had Morena Baccarin too, but she was literally a companion. In any case, 'Castle' is on course to continue its round of 'Firefly' love, casting former Serenity shipmate Gina Torres for an upcoming episode, but will her role be on the side of good?

Joss Whedon's legendary sci-fi series 'Firefly' may have come and gone, with all its actors ten years older and firmly entrenched in other projects, but no true fan (or Browncoat) will ever lose faith in the ability to re-light the 'Firefly.' Toward that end, this Satuday will see the Science Channel airing 'Firefly: Browncoats Unite,' a ten-year anniversary retrospective of the beloved series. Of course, the question will always remain if the series could return in some format, but even then, what stories is Nathan Fillion revealing that were never produced for TV?

Considering we still mark years with four digits, more rumors of a 'Firefly' reunion have begun to spill out, though not as we've previously heard them. This past weekend, the cast reunited at New York Comic-Con 2012 for another 10-year reunion panel much as it had in San Diego, but this time a speck of new data escaped out into the 'verse: could the possibility of an actual reunion be in play as an animated series?
