Grohl’s Documentary Due February 1
Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl has announced February 1st as the worldwide release date for Sound City, the documentary he has produced and directed on the history and legacy of the title facility, a legendary and now-closed Los Angeles studio where classic albums from dozens of artists were recorded. The film includes interviews about the studio and the making of those albums with Trent Reznor, Josh Homme, Mick Fleetwood, Tom Petty, Lars Ulrich, Krist Novoselic, Corey Taylor and more. Original musical collaborations between some of the participants were also filmed.

Last Sunday's Kennedy Center Honors provided a reunion of sorts for Dave Grohl and John Paul Jones, bandmates in Them Crooked Vultures. While drumming during the Led Zeppelin tribute was a dream come true for Grohl, he says recording with the Zep bassist was an unforgettable experience.
