34 Years Ago: Bon Scott Found Dead

On Tuesday, Feb. 19, 1980, Bon Scott was found dead. The legendary AC/DC front man had been out drinking with friends, but the casual evening took a terrible turn as Scott passed out in his car, and ultimately choked to death on his own vomit. He was only 33 years old.

AC/DC Show Support for Bon Scott Hometown Statue

Supporters of a plan to raise money for a statue of Bon Scott in his hometown of Kirriemuir, Scotland received a big boost recently when AC/DC put their weight into the project with a post on their official website. The campaign is looking to raise over $75,000 (50,000 pounds) before June 5. As of today (May 16), they're one-third of the way there.

AC/DC: Bon Scott Statue #2

Plans are in place for the late AC/DC singer Bon Scott to be honored with a statue in Kirriemuir, Scotland, where he was born in 1946. This will be the second statue erected in his honor, with the first one going on display in October 2008 at the Fremantle Fishing Boat Harbor in western Australia.
