In a battle of Batman vs. Superman, the man in the Superman suit won the race. A couple drivers were sporting the super hero colors to promote the new film.

Jimmy Johnson wins a record sixth time at the Auto Club 400. In doing so he surpassed the late Dale Earnhardt, Sr. on the all time win list. Take a look at that list now.

His win on Sunday marked his 77th career victory in NASCAR. Not too bad for a kid from Southern California that started racing on dirt bikes.

Johnson now becomes the first driver in the 2016 season with multiple victories in the Sprint Cup Series. He won three weeks ago at Atlanta.

This time in California, Johnson made big moves in the final laps after a restart. He passed Kevin Harvick and Denny Hamlin.

Johnson brought the #48 Chevrolet from the 19th starting position to victory in front of Harvick in second, who led 142 of 205 laps, and Denny Hamlin third. Joey Logano was fourth and Ricky Stenhouse, Jr. crossed the finish line fifth. See complete results.

Reigning series champion Kyle Busch, who I had picked to win, was running in second until a tire blew in Lap 198, causing a caution that sent the 200-lap race into overtime.

The 400-mile race saw six cautions and nine different leaders.

The Sprint Cup Series returns after a week off for Easter, and heads to Martinsville, Virginia on April 3.
