Might be hard to believe but one of the best gaming systems ever made has just turned 25 years old.

The Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) was released on August 23, 1991. It featured such popular games such as Super Mario World, Super Punch Out, Star Fox, Donkey Kong Country, Mega Man, Doom, Mortal Kombat, NBA Jam, and The Legend of Zelda.

Trust me, I can keep on going. I grew up in the SNES era and feel like I have played everything on the system. Many hours were spent playing the games I listed above and even some terrible games such as American Gladiators (Seriously, it was bad).

It was such a simple system, but could be frustrating when a game wouldn't start. Then there was the times that games wouldn't save, or my brother would somehow destroy the game.

Some of those games are still worth a lot of money...as long as you still have the cases for them. Wish my 5-10 year old self would have known that back then.

Regardless, there are still times where I like to find the old system and give it a run. A lot of those games still hold up to this day.

So here's to you Super Nintendo!
