STP Playing Without Weiland

The three non-singing members of Stone Temple Pilots will make their first public appearance since firing vocalist Scott Weiland later this month at the MusiCares MAP Fund benefit in Los Angeles. Guitarist Dean DeLeo, bassist Robert DeLeo and drummer Eric Kretz are being billed as "members of Stone Temple Pilots," but there are no details on what they will play or who if anyone will perform with them. Stone Temple Pilots has not performed live since last September.

STP officially fired Weiland in February after weeks of rumors about his status, issuing a terse statement that read, "Stone Temple Pilots have announced they have officially terminated Scott Weiland." No further details have since revealed.
