Sting – Not Very Police Like

Sting has posted a 12-minute sample of his new album, The Last Ship, online.

The album contains 12 songs, so you get a minute or so of each, but it won’t rock your socks as it is very mellow and very English. The album tells the story of the end of the shipbuilding industry in the Newcastle area of England, where he is from. It’s based on a Broadway play of the same name, which will premiere next year. The album will be out in September 24th.

Sting will perform the album at 10 shows at New York’s Public Theater from September 25th through October 9th. All proceeds from the shows will go to the theater.
