Sioux Falls Police are on the lookout for a statute of a knight on a horse that was ripped off last May.

Police Department Public Information Officer Sam Clemens explains.

"Somebody in southeast Sioux Falls had noticed that a statute they had inside the house is now missing. Last time they remember seeing it was in May. It's about 12 to 14 inches tall. It does have a marble base. The value is around four thousand dollars."

Clemens says waiting several months before reporting the stolen statute makes it harder to solve the crime.

"Ideally we would like people to report crime as soon as it happens. It gives us a better chance to investigate it. We have
better luck solving those. There are certain circumstances when it is delayed. There are a number of reasons why that could be. In this case he remembered last seeing it in May But he reported it now. We will do what we can to see if we can find it."
