SIOUX FALLS, SD -- The Sioux Falls Stampede announced Tuesday they have acquired forward Christian Horn from the Tri-City Storm in exchange for a draft pick in the 2014 USHL Phase 2 Draft and a swap of future players.

Horn was the Storm’s leading scorer this season with 25 points (12, 13a) and a plus-5 rating in 28 games. He has five power play goals and five game-winning goals on the season.  The 5-foot-11, 180-pound left-handed shot also served as an assistant captain on the team. He registered the eventual game-winning goal against the Stampede last Saturday in the Storm’s 4-3 victory. The Plymouth, Minn. native spent last season at the University of Minnesota.

Prior to joining the Gophers, Horn skated for Benilde-St.Margaret’s where he captained the Red Knights to a 2012 state Class AA title with six points in tournament play. He finished his high school career holding school records for career points (207) and assists (127) and became the first player in school history to reach the 200-point and 100-assist plateaus. He also won two state championships with the Red Knights in lacrosse.

Horn is expected to join the Herd for practice Wednesday and could make his Stampede debut this Friday when the Herd host Cedar Rapids at 7:05 PM.  He will wear No. 21 and joins Garrett Cecere and Nolan Gluchowski who were also acquired from Tri-City in trades over the last week.
