As he did the previous night, Gary U.S. Bonds was on hand to reprise his 1981 classics recorded with the E Street Band -- "Jole Blon," and his Springsteen-written Number 11 hit, "This Little Girl." Other rarities included the Sessions Band favorite "Pay Me My Money Down," the classic 1985 B-side "Janey Don't You Lose Heart," a triple blast from Born To Run with "Meeting Across The River," "Jungleland," and "Thunder Road" -- with his mom and Gary U.S. Bonds joining in on a show-closing "Twist And Shout."

Springsteen has long maintained that his live performances are the backbone of his career, which connects him not only to the audience and his bandmates, but ultimately to himself: "I knew that the most important thing to me was when I walked out -- whether it was in a little bar on any stage, how it made me feel. Because I wanna do -- find some way in. Some way to be a part of, I guess, a community that was either really there or that I imagined. That I dreamt of."
