South Dakota's Meghan Dennis took 20th in the women's javelin at the NCAA Division I Track & Field Championships in Eugene, Oregon.

Dennis, a freshman, finished with a best of 143' 3" on her second attempt.  She threw 135' 5" in round one and fouled in round two.

The Gretna, Nebraska native had set a new state and school record last weekend at the West regional meet, with a throw of 159' 3".

Dennis is the first of four Coyote women to compete at the NCAA Championships this week.  Pole vaulters Bethany Buell and Emily Grove go Friday, high jumper Megan Glisar goes Saturday.
