RAPID CITY, S.D. (AP) - A South Dakota woman accused in the death of her five-month-old baby has pleaded guilty to a felony charge of child abuse and neglect.

Federal prosecutors are dismissing a murder charge under the plea agreement with 31-year-old Kehuanna Poitra, of Wanblee.

Authorities say Poitra failed to properly care for her infant son and seek necessary medical attention, leading to his death in the summer of 2011.

U.S. Attorney Brendan Johnson says Poitra faces at least 10 years in prison. A sentencing date was not immediately set.
