Another year has passed and another study has been released about the best and worst states for teenage drivers. South Dakota ranks dead last again.

WalletHub performed the study and measured cases on safety conditions (teen fatalities, miles traveled, DUI/DWI, quality of roads), economic environment (speeding tickets, red light violations, seat belt violations, insurance premiums, repair cost), and driving laws (graduated drivers licensing, occupant protection laws, impaired driving laws, texting while driving).

South Dakota ranks last in driving laws, 48th in safety, and a surprising 12th in economic environment. The overall weighted average ranks South Dakota 50th in the country behind North Dakota (48th overall) and Montana (49th overall). New York is ranked as the top state for teenage drivers.
