The headline may be a bit misleading, but there are personal reasons for that.  My palate enjoys sweet corn is best enjoyed just when it is just turning ripe.  The kernels are not too big and a light yellow.

It’s a personal taste, because some people love it when those ears of corn on the cob is a golden color.  That’s the tough, chewy variety that will be available in South Dakota for the next week or so.

Now is the time for that crisp, juicy treat slathered in salt, pepper and butter.  Then the wait begins for next year’s crop.
