South Dakota State's Zenner Ready For Last Run at FCS Title

When you've run for more than 4,000 yards in the last two seasons, you don't spend a lot of time looking behind you.

But you can't fault South Dakota State running back Zach Zenner for peeking over his shoulder just a little as he starts his senior season in Brookings.

Zenner admits that certain parts of the last four years have been a blur, while others have stuck with him a bit longer:

One thing is certain, Zenner is part of the most successful class in Jackrabbit history, with not only back-to-back FCS playoff appearances, but consecutive seasons advancing to the second round of the post season.

Despite the success of the last two seasons, Zenner isn't content to rest on what he and his teammates have accomplished, he says there's still work to be done:

One of the big question marks for the 2014 Jackrabbits will be the state of the offensive line, a group who greatly impacts Zenner's ability to do his job. SDSU is dealing with graduation and injuries up front, but Zenner likes what he sees so far heading into game one at Missouri Saturday:

Despite the re-tooled offensive line, South Dakota State is picked second in the Missouri Valley Conference pre-season poll, and grabbed a pair of top ten rankings in FCS pre-season rankings.
