South Dakota Primary Results
Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton were named winners in their respective parties in the South Dakota Primary on June 7, 2016. Although Trump's announcement came shortly after polls closed at 7:00 PM, the final count between Democratic Candidates Sanders and Clinton was too close to call till 11:00 PM. According the the official record keeper, the South Dakota Secretary of State Office of Shantel Krebs, the final count was:
- 25,957 Votes in South Dakota for Bernie Sanders
- 27,046 Votes in South Dakota for Hillary Clinton
In the Republican Primary across South Dakota:
- John R Kasich 10,659 votes
- Ted Cruz 11,350
- Donald Trump 44,862
