PIERRE - South Dakota's 25th annual conference on the environment and ground water quality will be held Wednesday in Fort Pierre.

The conference will include exhibits and technical presentations covering ground water, geology, mining and mineral resources.

The South Dakota Department of Environment and Natural Resources is hosting the conference. State Environment and Natural Resources Secretary Steve Pirner says people attending the conference can learn about issues such as supplying water to oil fields and a proposed new gold mining project in the Black Hills.

The conference at the AmericInn Teton Island Conference Center is free and open to the public.
