Less than two weeks after a bicyclist was struck and killed in Sioux Falls by a car, another car/bicycle accident sent a teenage girl to the hospital.

The incident occurred late Wednesday afternoon near 41st and Marion Road.  According to reports at the scene, two teenagers were riding east on the sidewalk when an 88-year old woman pulled out of the Lewis Drug Parking lot.

The 15-year old girl was struck and subsequently dragged under the car.  Her companion, a male friend, was not hit by the vehicle and quickly ran into traffic to stop the woman who was unaware of the situation.

Upon first glance it appears that the girl does not have life-threatening injuries.  The driver of the vehicle was cited for failure to exercise due care.
