What's worse than a snow storm? Going out to your vehicle after it's over to find a ticket on it or worse yet, find it's been towed by the city because you didn't pay attention when the snow alert was issued.

The city of Sioux Falls is giving you the opportunity to sign up for free text messages when snow alerts are issued to hopefully save you from getting ticketed or towed!

Subscription is easy! Just text the message SNOW to 605-413-1990 or you can visit the City of Sioux Falls website here to register.

You can also sign up for e-mail alerts and follow the city on Twitter @siouxfallssnow.

A snow alert is issued when over two inches of snow has fallen. Snow Emergency routes are plowed immediately and kept as clear as possible through snow events. The city of Sioux Falls then breaks up the city in zones. You can find out what zone you are in here and what times they will be plowing.
