In a game of runs, it’s the matter of when they happen that matters most.  The Sioux Falls Skyforce had two significant stretches where hot shooting carried them past the Fort Wayne Mad Ants 103-101 on Monday night at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum.

A 17-1 burst bridging the end of the first quarter to the beginning of the second period opened things up for the Skyforce (11-3).  The lead got to its apex at 55-43 near the middle of the quarter before the Mad Ants (6-7) pecked away until an 11-0 stretch for the home team gave them the lead at the beginning of the fourth quarter.

The second Sioux Falls strike was a run of 8 straight including back-to-back threes by Walker to briefly get the lead back.  The Skyforce never trailed for the rest of the game although the two teams were tied four times in the fourth quarter.  Sioux Falls took the lead for good with a layup and free throw by A.J. Davis with 2:26 left.

Justin Hamilton scored 31 points and Henry Walker had 26. DeAndre Liggins the reigning NBADL Performer of the Week chipped in with 13 and Charlie Westbrook supplied 11 counters. Fort Wayne was led by Ron Howard's 23 points and Indiana Pacers assignee Solomon Hill added 19 in his D-League debut.
