Two talented teams went toe-to-toe on Tuesday night in Santa Cruz and the better rebounding team posted the win.  The D-League Warriors beat the Sioux Falls Skyforce 99-90 at Kaiser Permanente Arena with 2,300 witnesses.

The battle of the boards was the overall difference in the game with the home team picking up 49 to only 29 for the Skyforce.  Nine of ten Warriors who saw the court captured at least one offensive carom with the aggregate total reaching 18 for Santa Cruz.  The Warriors Dominic McGuire grabbed 12 rebounds overall along with 11 points.

A 10-2 run propelled Santa Cruz (13-9) to a 27-23 lead at the end of the first quarter.  From there, the Warriors held a steady advantage for the rest of the game.  Sioux Falls (14-8) put together a decent shooting performance going 33-69 from the floor and 12-32 from long range.  Tre Kelley stood out hitting 9-16 overall with 4 connections from 3-point land.  William Buford was tops for the Warriors with 18 counters.

DeAndre Liggins continues to post marks in all categories with 15 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals for the Skyforce.  Meanwhile Henry Walker and Justin Hamilton picked up 13 points apiece.  Sioux Falls will continue their west coast trek with a Friday night scrap at Bakersfield.  The Warriors will also play Friday in a road contest against the rejuvenated Tulsa 66ers.
