Recently Sioux Falls has endured a number of casino robberies. This latest incident has a different flavor to it than the others.

Sioux Falls Police are investigating a burglary where the door on a video lottery machine was broken and the cash was taken. It happened early Tuesday morning at Dareo’s Pizza Casino on E. 26th Street.

Officer Sam Clemens explains the discovery. “The clerk ended up finding the door was open (on the machine). The guy that was there broke it open and took cash.”

The finding was reported around closing time. No suspects are in custody, however Clemens says there is surveillance footage of the incident.

Most of the other casino robberies have involved a person confronting the clerk or another employee with or without a weapon to obtain cash.
