Sioux Falls Police Officer Sam Clemens says the department's street crimes unit arrested an out of state woman for prostitution.

"Members of the unit came across an ad on the internet and then answered the ad. They ended up having conversations with the woman and agreed to meet her in a hotel in Southwest Sioux Falls," explained Clemens. "Once they arrived, the officers arrested her for prostitution. One of the things with all the prostitution cases - we look to see if there is a tie in or involvement  with human trafficking. They didn't find any in this particular instances."

Clemens says the Police Department is keeping watch over those who are caught up in prostitution.

'We know that it's been around for some time. We're just trying to manage it really and find  those who are being trafficked and forced into it against their will," continued Clemens. "We want people to know the Police Department is taking this seriously and will enforce the law for those individuals involved in prostitution."

Clemens says 30-year-old Sahara Gibson faces one count of prostitution, a misdemeanor charge.
