Sioux Falls Detective Rob Forster says a reward is being offered for information relating to the Tuthilll Park shooting.

"This is being done because the investigation has led us thus far to this: the shooting is an incident based on the facts that it was a credible threat made to an officer. and we're doing this because of the safety of the officers on the street."

Forster says this type of reward is the first of its kind in the city.

"This is the first type of reward that the labor council and the Fraternal Order of Police have cooperated together to put out.  This is something that is taking place in other parts of the country. That's why we're doing this right now."

Back in January, a suspect armed with a handgun threatened officer Anthony Davis in Tuthill Park.  The Sioux Falls Fraternal Order of Police Labor Council is offering a one thousand dollar cash reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspect that carried out the crime.

In addition, several organizations have pledged an additional two thousand dollars bringing the reward total to three thousand dollars.
