Do you pride yourself in the way you budget your money each month? You should, and there's a very good reason why, you live in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Sioux Falls is filled with people who know how to operate within a budget.

According to a new WalletHub report, Sioux Falls is the second best city in the nation for residents that are able to stick to a budget. We trail only to our friends up north in Fargo who secured the top spot.

For that matter, people in both North and South Dakota, Minnesota and Iowa are all pretty budgeters.

Rochester, MN ranks number three, Minneapolis-St. Paul, fourth, Cedar Rapids, IA holds the sixth spot, Des Moines seventh and Sioux City ranks eighth in the nation.

Roughly three in five adult Americans do not maintain a budget, and 14 percent say they don’t even have a good idea of what they spend on expenses such as housing, food and entertainment. This according to the National Foundation of Credit Counseling.

WalletHub looked at 16 key metrics while conducting the study. They ranged from average credit scores to the percentage of unbanked households.

Another reason why Sioux Falls deserves a big pat on the back, we have one of the nation's lowest foreclosure rates and credit card use records.
