Sioux Falls Police have received hundreds of fireworks calls, in addition to other calls, between 5:00 P.M. Friday and 5 AM on Tuesday.

"Last year for the whole year we had," according to Police Spokesman Sam Clemens, "up to 500 fireworks calls. This year in the past week---we have had over 600 fireworks calls. Lot of calls indicates the public is listening and calling us. In the past, we had two tickets that were issued last year. So far this year we have issued 14 tickets. There have been a lot of warnings that have gone along with that.'

If you know of someone igniting fireworks in Sioux Falls, Clemens urges you to report the violations to police.
