Four men have been charged so far in what authorities say was a burglary operation that struck more than 60 businesses in South Dakota, Minnesota and Iowa.

Sioux Falls Police Captain Greg VandeKamp says three of the four were arrested around 11pm Wednesday after an officer watched a vehicle leave after a break-in at Goldie's Radiator Service, in the 2700 block of West 9th Street.

The vehicle was stopped and the three were arrested, and VandeKamp says they are believed to be part of a string of burglaries in the Tri-State area that date back to May of this year.

He says agencies from the three states have been investigating, and that the arrests resulted from "a lot of great police work."

VandeKamp says three, all believed to be transients, 29-year-old Nathan Perkins, 21-year-old Dylan Gates and 18-year-old Jared Gates, are facing a long list of charges that include grand theft, burglary and possession of stolen property.

After the three were arrested, police searched a home in Luverne, Minnesota and arrested 25-year-old Travis Hyatt for receiving stolen property.

VandeKamp says the investigation is continuing.
