Sioux Falls Police Information Officer Sam Clemens says the police department is working with officers to ensure the new city ordinance banning texting while driving is properly enforced.
The ordinance goes into effect on Friday.
Last month, the Sioux Falls City Council approved the ordinance.
Violation of the ordinance is a Class 2 city ordinance misdemeanor offense and a $95 ticket.
