Police Officer Sam Clemens says a Sioux Falls man was arrested in connection with an attempted rape over the weekend.

"We had three people that went through Cherry Rock Park to drink. They actually left the bike path and were inside some tall grass. One of the guys took off and left a guy and gal. At some point, he ended up grabbing her and started groping her. She was telling him no. Then he started grabbing hold of her pants and trying to pull her pants down. She was able to fight back and eventually was able to work herself free. She ran to a house nearby and had them call police. We found the suspect nearby. He was arrested for attempted rape and sexual contact."

In another incident, Clemens says police are looking for a suspect following a weekend kidnapping.

"17-year-old girl was at a friend's house. Another guy showed up to deal some drugs. He looked at her and recognized her as someone he sold drugs to in the past. She still owed him money. He pulled out a gun and pointed the gun at her. He forced the girl to go with him. He took her to a hotel in the southwest part of Sioux Falls and kept her there for quite a few hours. At some point, he grabbed all of his stuff and walked out of the room and leaving her behind. She then was able to leave. Once at home, she told her parents what happened. They reported the kidnapping to the police."

Clemens says the suspect has not been located at this time.
