With the help of an eyewitness, Sioux Falls Police Information Officer Sam Clemens says police were alerted to a drug deal.

"There were some guys in a car. Another person walked up to the car and exchanged money. He got something inside the car and left. The eyewitness was able to call that in. When officers got there, two people were sitting in the car. It turns out the passenger had some warrants. He also had six bags of marijuana on him. They actually talked to the woman that called and figured it was him. He was arrested on some drug charges."

Clemens says the arrest is an example of the public helping the police!

"We have a lot of officers but we can't be everywhere all the time. We really rely heavily on the people. If they see something suspicious, we want them to call police. In this case, it worked out extremely well. We were able to get this guy and the drugs off the street."

Clemens says the incident took place outside the Oak View Library in Northeast Sioux Falls.
