One person is charged and others are being sought after an incident in Sioux Falls Monday afternoon that left a 46-year-old man with several cuts to his head.

Information Officer Sam Clemens says police were called just after 3:00 p.m. to an apartment in the 600 block of South Prairie Avenue and a report of a stabbing. He says when officers arrived, they found a man bleeding from a four-inch cut to the side of his head:

The victim was taken to a hospital where doctors used 24 staples to close three cuts on his head.

Clemens says 24-year-old Matthew Dean Pickner was charged with simple assault, and he says other suspects are being sought. He says all of the people involved had been drinking.
