We took a tour of the Pettigrew Home & Museum which is located in the historic district in Sioux Falls, SD. And dig this...it's a FREE tour!

This home was built in 1889 for Thomas and Jenny McMartin. In 1911, Senator Richard Franklin Pettigrew purchased the home for $12,000.

Richard Franklin Pettigrew lived from July 23rd, 1848 until October 5th, 1926 and was an American lawyer, surveyor, and land developer.

He represented the Dakota Territory in the U.S. Congress and, after the Dakotas were admitted as States, he was the first U.S. Senator from South Dakota.

A big thank you to our fantastic tour guide and the great folks that maintain this historic home!
