A Sioux Falls Motorcycle Police Officer was taken to the hospital following a crash with a car Friday morning in Sioux Falls.

According to the argusleader.com the crash was called in to police about 10:30 a.m.

Police had closed the eastbound lane of the 11th street viaduct to reroute traffic away from the accident.

The police officer was transported to the hospital and appeared to have non-life threatening injuries, said Lt. Troy Lubbers, with the Sioux Falls Police Department. The driver of the other vehicle was uninjured and will be sited for an improper left turn, Lubbers said. "Motorcycles are out there. You just have to be mindful of that," Lubbers said.
