Police say no arrests have been made yet after a shooting incident Sunday afternoon in the West Sioux area of Sioux Falls.

Officers were called around 5:40 PM to the 2200 block of West Madison Street where a man said he had been shot in the back of the head.

Witnesses told police the incident had taken place in a nearby apartment building in the 1000 block of North Lincoln Avenue. Those witnesses said the victim had been partying with several other people when he pulled out a handgun that was fired in a struggle for the weapon.

The victim fled, but he was taken to a hospital with injuries police say were not life-threatening.

Police say they are still investigating.
