A man who stole an SUV, led police on a high-speed chase which led to an accident that killed a father of three was shown no mercy during sentencing Monday. Kyle Lee Jones a 20 year old from Sioux Falls will serve the maximum allowed under the plea agreement reached in April of this year.

Jones pled guilty to manslaughter to avoid a trial in the death of Jade Thie who was in a mini van along with one other passenger in the traffic accident on March 1 of 2012. In the sentencing, Judge Patricia Riepel determined that Jones will serve 50 years for his actions. She explained that since the accident, Jones did not show any remorse for his actions. Also while incarcerated he showed open hatred for police and attacked a jailer. Jones will be eligible for parole in 24 years.
