Sioux Falls Police Officer Sam Clemens says a Sioux Falls man faces a number of felony charges following a Friday night incident in the 1000 Block of East 3rd Street.

"A car drove up and we had a guy leave that car. He came over and asked the victim if he wanted to buy drugs. When the victim said he didn't do any drugs, the suspect pulled a handgun and threatened several people with the gun before leaving."

Police found the suspect a short time later.

"The suspect put up his hands like he wanted to fight. The officer then pulled out his taser and used it on the suspect. He was able to get the person handcuffed and arrested. Once arrested, officers found a handgun that had fallen from the suspect. The handgun had the serial numbers filed off and was reported stolen out of Minnesota."

Clemens says the stolen handgun added to the charges against the 25-year-old transient.
