Police Officer Sam Clemens says a Sioux Falls man was arrested at Heritage Park Thursday night.

"We had a couple of officers that were actually in Heritage Park talking to somebody. Another person came up and said 'hey there's two guys that are getting ready fight.' The officers looked over and saw the suspect punching an individual. They were able to arrest him quickly. He started fighting with the officers as well."

Clemens says 29-year-old Kent Thin Elk was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.

Right now, Clemens says there is an ongoing police presence at Heritage Park.

"We are having officers that are monitoring the park even more than what we've done in the past. It's really just the way to stop violence and keep things from getting worse Most calls are for people drinking in the park, or acting disorderly."
