Sioux Falls Contractor Pleads Guilty to Grand Theft, Faces Prison Time
A Sioux Falls man will be sentenced in November after pleading guilty to grand theft.
Attorney General Marty Jackley says 27-year-old Michael Harry Monmaney pled guilty to one count of theft by deception, a felony that’s punishable to up to ten years in prison and/or a $20,000 fine.
Monmaney also admitted to a misdemeanor charge of failure to inform a buyer of the right to cancel.
The AG’s office says the charges stemmed from complaints filed with the Consumer Protection Division for home improvement work that was not completed in Minnehaha County in the late spring and summer of 2012.
Monmaney’s sentencing is set for November 12.
