You haven't been able to turn on the radio or TV without hearing about the devastation left in Oklahoma by the tornadoes this week. One local business has ties to Moore, Oklahoma and is going to be sending a shipment of donations to the citizens on Saturday (May 25)

Oh My Cupcakes at 4th & Main in downtown Sioux Falls will be accepting donations Thursday and Friday at their shop during normal business hours. OMC owner Melissa Johnson has a close friend who is a teacher in Moore, Oklahoma and her head baker moved to Oklahoma City earlier this year. She knows what a caring community we have here in Sioux Falls, so she wanted to do something to help.

Here are the items that are most needed:

-Protein bars and wrapped/sealed single-serve snacks

-Diapers and baby wipes

-Shovels, rakes, saws, tools for cleanup

-Heavy duty trash bags

-Cases of water and Gatorade

-Sunscreen

-Work gloves

-Gift cards for any of the main chains (Wal Mart, Target, Sam’s Club, Home Depot, etc) where they could buy supplies when they get closer to OKC to purchase the much-needed supplies.

Remember, the truck is leaving for Oklahoma this Saturday morning so donations must be dropped off at Oh My Cupcakes before 6pm Friday (May 24). If you have any questions, call 605-310-6742.

Thank you for your help!
