The man who has been the face of the Burger King franchise in the Sioux Falls area for over 40 years, just made a whopper of a decision recently, he's done flipping burgers.

Tom Walsh Sr. and his family are selling their 26 Burger King restaurants located throughout South Dakota and Minnesota next week to Chicago-based company Cave Enterprises, LLC.

Walsh's company, Dakota King at one time operated 60 different Burger King locations from Wisconsin to Nebraska. Just last year, Walsh ended up selling five Burger King locations in North Dakota, and another five locations in Duluth, Minnesota earlier this year to the same company he is selling the remaining 26 locations to now, Cave Enterprises.

Walsh's Dakota King operation currently employs over 1000 people.

The Sioux Falls Argus Leader is reporting that the majority of the team will stay in place and continue on with the new ownership group. According to Walsh, Cave Enterprises is even keeping his daughter Molly on board to help build the culture throughout their system.

As for Walsh Sr. he and other family members plan to focus on growing GreatLife Malaska Golf & Fitness, a company Walsh has helped run for a number of years.
