Should There Be A Super Bowl Halftime Show? [POLL]
They are the two most debated non-football stories at the Super Bowl every year: the TV commercials and the halftime show. We’ll never rid ourselves of commercials, but could the halftime show be going away – at least for one year?
The New York Post is reporting there might not be any show at Super Bowl XLVIII because of the weather. The 2014 Super Bowl is being held at MetLife Stadium, home of the the New York Giants and Jets, which is an open-air arena, in New Jersey, in early February — which means it’s going to be cold, at the least.
According to the story, there are currently no plans for a halftime show because NFL officials can’t figure out how to stage one at what will be the first-ever outdoor, cold-weather Super Bowl. According to one source:
It’s not only the acts and the singers, but the crews that have to put the stage together. You know, the assembly has to be done a certain way.
It’s choreographed and rehearsed so it can be assembled and disassembled as fast as possible. And you just can’t assemble the stage and break it down fast enough in the cold.
Do you think the Super Bowl would be the same without a halftime show? What do you think?
