This picture was from Blair, Nebraska about two weeks ago following the storms that blew through. Areas to the south of Sioux Falls have the threat of seeing hail this size again late Saturday afternoon into Saturday evening.

The National Weather Service is watching a storm develop that has the highest threat between 4 and 7pm bringing a chance of 70 mile an hour winds, up to golf ball sized hail, heavy rain at times and a slight chance of a tornado to Sioux Falls.

The report says the greatest threat for severe weather is to the south of Sioux Falls, from northeast Nebraska and extreme southeast South Dakota into northwest Iowa, generally south of US Highway 18. Those areas could see tennis ball sized hail, winds up to 80 miles an hour, a greater threat of a tornado and the possibility of flooding as heavy rains could be in this system.

To the north of Sioux Falls, it looks like less rain and wind and not a large chance of severe weather this evening, but we all know how Mother Nature has a habit of changing her mind on a moments notice.

We know many of you may have Father's Day weekend plans or barbecue's planned. Please make sure you have a radio or weather radio handy with the threat of these severe storms in our area.
